Benitez under Pressure

Updated: November 30, 2012

Chelsea are yet to open their scoring account under their interim manager rafa benitez.

Chelsea have just played out two consecutive 0-0 stalemates for the first time in the Roman Abramovich era. The end of the game saw abramovich storming out and concluded with boo’s from the home supporters.
When rafa was questioned about this in the post match interview , he is still confident that his team could win the league . He also said that they had only couple of training sessions and they need time .

Here is some small statistics , the goals that other teams scored since their 2-1 defeat against West Brom ,

  • Everton – 2 goals
  • Liverpool – 4 goals
  • Man city – 7  goals
  • Man united -4 goals
  • Southampton – 5 goals
  • Swansea  – 5 goals
  • Tottenham – 5 goals
  • West brom – 6 goals

Not many times u see Southampton scoring 5 goals more than Chelsea . That’s where Chelsea are at now , with their misfiring striker fernando torres , lack of confidence among the squad , confusion among chelsea fans upon sacking of di matteo , all contributed to the misery of the london club.

The work in hand is apparent for Rafa , but one positive sign was we could see a ‘Rafa stamp’ on the style of play that Chelsea played . Two Clean sheets always good , but at Chelsea they expect more . The fortunes must changed and results must come soon , else the ex liverpool boss is under trouble .
